Case study · Mygrafistas

A complete system for a printing business

Mygrafistas does printing and promotional gifts, with about 9,400 customer accounts. It had a catalogue, an old e-shop and a separate DTF shop, with products and prices in three places and a lot done by hand. We started from how it works and built the system around it.

  • 25active parts in the system
  • 344products with tiered prices
  • 7languages in the DTF store
  • 4payment methods

An order, with no manual steps

From the customer's design to the print file.

First, we looked at what was there

Before a line of code was written, we went through the catalogue product by product with the business.

  • 211review cards on the catalogue
  • 35price errors found
  • 34duplicate products
  • 110decisions from the owner
  • 135products removed, with proper redirects
  • 272products got their production time back

Made-to-order orders

A printing business doesn't sell ready-made boxes. Each order has its own design, its own quantity and often its own price. The system was built around that.

  • DTF builder: customers upload designs and see them laid out on the 57 cm roll
  • Price request: the shop sets the price and the customer gets an email that it's ready
  • A personal order page for each customer, with no password to remember
  • Payment, bank receipt and cancellation from the same page
  • A payment reminder with one button on the order

Offers without retyping

Corporate gifts close with an offer. Instead of Excel and emails, the offer is made inside the system, from the same products and the same prices.

  • Offer requests from the site, by phone or email
  • Each product shows its options, as on its own page
  • Several versions in one offer, each with its own total
  • Prices from the price list, changeable when needed
  • The customer opens it by link, accepts it and goes on to checkout

Prices that work themselves out

Prices used to live in the old e-shop. Now customers pick a quantity and print method and see the cost at once, without asking.

  • 344 products rebuilt with tiered prices and options
  • A price list per print method, minimum quantity and production time
  • 2,023 junk variations became 271 clean ones, by colour and size
  • Add-ons with their own charge
  • Fixed price lists where a bigger quantity cost more

Payments for every customer

Individuals and companies, on phone or computer. Paid orders move to processing by themselves.

  • Card, IRIS, Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Bank transfer with receipt upload
  • VAT number check through VIES for sales to European companies, in the DTF store

Marketing that wasn't possible before

Before, nobody could see what was left in carts. Our own marketing plugin shows every cart, even from a visitor with no account, and gives the business the tools to act when it decides to.

  • Carts with products, value, device and where the visitor came from
  • Recovery emails for abandoned carts
  • Email campaigns with contacts and segments
  • Coupons and "My coupons"
  • Popups and dedicated offer pages
  • E-commerce events ready for analytics and ads

Numbers, without Excel

The owner sees how the business is doing on the dashboard, without building reports.

  • Sales, cost and gross profit by period
  • DTF metres, orders and customers by month
  • Top customers, this month and overall
  • Products and categories by period

Customers get their own answers

"Where is my order?" eats time every day. Now it's answered without a call, and the shop sees what the customer sees.

  • A public order tracking page
  • Every customer email also reaches the shop
  • Files open directly from the email, even on a phone

Languages, with no outside services

DTF sells across Europe, so the store speaks the customer's language. On mygrafistas.com, Greek stayed at the same addresses and English was added alongside.

  • 7 languages in the DTF store, with language suggested by country
  • Greek and English on mygrafistas.com
  • English fields on products, pages, categories and SEO

Accessible to everyone

Every visitor can adapt the site to their needs, from a button on every page.

  • Text size and contrast
  • A readable font and highlighted links
  • Less motion, a large cursor and a reading guide

The foundations underneath

To make all this work, the site was rebuilt, without losing what it had earned on Google.

  • 5,940 addresses were checked as identical at the switch, along with the SEO of 840 products
  • From 38 outside tools to 14, with our own design
  • One update reaches every store from one place

From the old to the new system

  • Laying out on the roll was done by handDesigns lay themselves out and the print file is ready on the order
